Composer Project
All thirty-three years I did a composer project. It was content-based. It started with simple facts to morphing to a complete music/art project. It was so successful that fifth grade students couldn't wait to select their composer for the year.
This is driven by the MUSIC, not the composer.
It is not important that the students know the dates, birthplace, or other facts. They should understand the MUSIC.
Students can select the same song/composer.
Their song and composer does not have to be on the list, if there is a "classical" song or composer they wish to study they can.

SelectionDay 1
Hooked on Classics List of Songs List of Songs - download They select ONE song that will be their song. Their composer is the song they selected. This takes the entire period and is done Day 2 Students are assigned a composer station, that has internet connection. They listen to their song and decide on the project and thirty-seconds they would like to use for the project. |

PresentationDeadline
Upon completton, students sign up to present to class. The file(s) are dropped into dropbox or dropittome ONE tech day to make sure all files can be presented. Open Lab for the rest of the students to complete composer project. One day of full presentations. All files are posted, then students comment. |
